Two days after Chandrayaan-3 landed on the Moon, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Friday launched the primary video of the rover transferring on the lunar floor, triggering a contemporary wave of pleasure.

The 30-second video reveals the rover popping out of the lander and sliding down from a ramp onto the floor. Another video, launched someday later, reveals how the ramp, part of the lander, deployed itself, facilitating the rover to roll down.

ISRO stated the rover had been transferring across the floor, as designed.

“A two-segment ramp facilitated the roll-down of the rover. A solar panel enabled the rover to generate power,” ISRO stated in an announcement on microblogging website X.

“All planned rover movements have been verified. The rover has successfully traversed a distance of about eight metres. Rover payloads LIBS (LASER Induced Breakdown Spectroscope) and APXS (Alpha Particle X-Ray Spectrometer) are turned ON,” it stated.

“All payloads on the propulsion module, lander module and rover are performing nominally,” it stated.

The lander module carries 4 scientific payloads, whereas the propulsion module, which goes across the Moon in orbit, has one instrument. The devices will perform varied sorts of experiments and observations over the subsequent two weeks. They are anticipated to grow to be inactive as soon as the lunar evening descends due to lack of daylight.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to go to ISRO on Saturday morning to satisfy the scientists of the area company. He is predicted to spend about an hour on the ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) the place the Chandrayaan-3 mission management centre is positioned.
