Wide receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette is on the transfer forward of Tuesday afternoon’s deadline to set 53-man rosters.

The Panthers introduced that they’ve acquired Smith-Marsette in a commerce with the Chiefs. The groups exchanged conditional seventh-round picks as a part of the deal.

Smith-Marsette had 9 receptions for 195 yards and two touchdowns in three preseason video games with Kansas City.

Smith-Marsette entered the league as a Bears fifth-round decide in 2021 and had 5 catches for 116 yards and two touchdowns in eight video games as a rookie. He was waived final August and obtained claimed by the Bears, however wound up on the Chiefs apply squad in October.

DJ Chark, Terrace Marshall, and Laviska Shenault have been coping with accidents in Carolina, so Smith-Marsette provides them slightly extra depth as they head towards Week One.
