This placing picture reveals the densely packed globular cluster often called NGC 2210, which is located within the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). The LMC lies about 157 000 light-years from Earth, and is a so-called satellite tv for pc galaxy of the Milky Way, which means that the 2 galaxies are gravitationally sure. Globular clusters are very secure, tightly sure clusters of hundreds and even tens of millions of stars. Their stability implies that they will final a very long time, and subsequently globular clusters are sometimes studied as a way to examine probably very previous stellar populations.
