There was some good news in Friday’s coronavirus caseload report from Lyon County Public Health.

The meatpacking cluster in place for weeks has closed after seeing nearly 200 cases. This followed Thursday’s close-out of the cluster at the Lyon County Law Enforcement Center that had seven cases among inmates, Detention Center staff and a Lyon County employee from outside the Sheriff’s Office.

Public Health is highlighting one private industry cluster with five active cases and 130 total cases at this time.

3:30 pm Friday: Lyon County adds seven cases; active caseload also increases

Lyon County has added seven new cases of coronavirus from Thursday, and the number of active cases is on the rise again.

Lyon County Public Health says the number of active cases went up from 32 to 38 with one new recovered patient listed. Lyon County now has 550 total cases since mid-March.

So far, most area health departments have not announced any changes in their overall or active case counts. Chase County has one active case. Coffey County has six active cases. Osage County has nine active cases. Wabaunsee County has one active case, down from two Thursday.

1032 new COVID-19 cases are being reported by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment since Wednesday.
Fridays update has 21,965 total confirmed positive and probable positive cases in Kansas.
Since last Friday 3,103 new cases have been diagnosed.
249,353 tests have been conducted. Less then 9 percent of the tests have been positive.
There were no new deaths reported. The number of deaths remains at 299.
