COVID cases in India: 160 people have died of Covid in the 24-hour period.

India achieved a significant feat on Thursday as it completed administering 100 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine to eligible beneficiaries. The landmark figure was reached at 9:47 AM yesterday, according to the government’s Co-WIN portal. India’s COVID-19 vaccination drive was launched on January 16, 2021.

Meanwhile, the country witnessed a sharp rise in its daily Covid graph on Thursday as 18,454 new cases were reported. Besides, 160 people have died of Covid in the 24-hour period, taking the total number of virus-linked fatalities to 4,52,811.

As India completes the administration of 100 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses, Niti Aayog Vice Chairman Rajiv Kumar lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and said India is going on the right path under his leadership.

Rajiv Kumar said, “This achievement is historic. It tells us if we Indians are determined about something, we can achieve it.”

He said, “We’re going on the right path under PM Modi’s leadership.”

J-K: Medical teams should be credited, says official on India administering 100 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses

As the country achieved the milestone of administering 100 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses so far, the community health officer in the Balakote area of Poonch district says the medical team officials should be credited for going door to door in the hilly border areas to achieve the target.

“Our medical teams worked very hard and visited door to door in border areas for vaccination. Since January, we ensure that no man above the age of 18 years leaves from here unvaccinated,” said Mushtaq Ahmad, Community Health Officer, Balakote. The residents of the area are also delighted about the fact that the country achieved the milestone.

“This is a big achievement for the country and as we have done 100 crore vaccinations. If people would not have supported this achievement could not have achieved,” said Rampal, a local resident.

100 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses: Bharat Biotech chairman lauds government; terms it significant feat

As India on Thursday achieved the milestone of administering 100 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses so far, Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Biotech Dr Krishna Ella lauded the government’s system for this achievement.

Terming the country’s nationwide vaccination drive, a “significant success”, Dr Ella said, “Credit goes to country’s scientists and also government system that delivered vaccine to the last mile of delivery. We proved to the world that Indian industry can do it.” “It is a significant achievement and sets a mark for Indian industry that we can help global health at large,” he added.

Deep appreciation in US over India crossing 100 crore COVID-19 vaccinations: Envoy

Indian envoy to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, has said that there is “very strong and deep appreciation” in the United States as India achieved the one billion COVID-19 vaccinations milestone. Speaking at Public Affairs Forum of India’s 8th National Forum 2021 on Thursday, Sandhu said: “It is a very proud moment for us and I can tell you that there is very strong and deep appreciation in the US that we have crossed the one billion landmark and all through the vaccines manufactured in India.”

India attained the milestone of administering 100 crore COVID-19 vaccines on Thursday morning. Several world leaders congratulated India on this achievement. India’s COVID-19 vaccination drive was launched on January 16, 2021. Initially, the vaccination was opened for Health Care Workers (HCWs) only.
