MUMBAI: Ever since the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in March 2020, Mumbai for the first time saw no new deaths due to the infection.
On Sunday, the city reported 367 new cases of coronavirus, pushing the tally to 7,50,808.
The death toll remained at 16,180.
On the other hand, the number of daily recoveries in the metropolis saw an upsurge. On Sunday, 518 persons got cured of Covid-19, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
With a recovery rate of 97 per cent, Mumbai has so far recorded 7,27,084 discharges.
The city is now left with 5,030 active cases.
The overall growth rate of Covid-19 cases from October 10 to October 16 is 0.06 per cent, while the doubling rate is 1,214 days.
The number of sealed buildings in the BMC limits is now pitched at 50, whereas there are no active containment zones (slums and chawls) in the city.
