HYDERABAD: Keeping in view the prevailing Coronavirus pandemic, the State Election Commission is trying to use technology wherever required for smooth and safe conduct of elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
Telangana State Election Commissioner C Parthasarathy said even the election result certificate can be forwarded online to the winning candidate. “Even the documents related to filing of nomination and declaration of assets, everything can be done online. We are working out the modalities to increase the use of technology. However, the contesting candidate has to come in person and sign the nomination paper in front of the Returning officer,” he said.
He was addressing the GHMC officials on the concluding day of training programme to them on “Te-Poll software.” With the advent of technology voters can download voter slip, constituency and polling station wise voter list, know his or her polling station too online within no time.
“The Te–poll software will allow contesting candidates to view all the details online. It will also reduce manpower working hours as well ensure accuracy. The program is aimed at training GHMC officials in election process management, polling personnel randomization system, counting personnel randomization system, election expenditure module among others. The GHMC officials from six zones were given extensive training on Te-Poll software and were also provided hands-on training,” he said.
