Srinagar, Oct 30:  The Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday inaugurated a multipurpose sports facility named “Srinagar Sports Club” here at Sher-i-Kashmir Indoor Complex, Srinagar.

“Srinagar Sports Club” first of its kind multipurpose sports facility will facilitate and serve in various sports activities all under one roof.

Billiards, Snooker, Chess, Carom, Table Tennis, Yoga, Sports Library and Nutrition and entrepreneurship etc. shall be facilitated /played in this club.

Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, while speaking on the occasion appreciated the efforts of J&K sports council and said the initiative is aimed towards bringing the athletes under one roof for developing the healthy ecosystem and club.

“This shall go a long way in fostering the bonds between athletes of varied backgrounds and thus pave the way for overall development of youth of J&K,” he said.

He also added that during winter the club and adjoining stadium shall become hub of sports and youth activities and therefore add colour to the drab settings.

Mehta was flanked by Secretary to Government, Tourism and Culture, Sarmad Hafeez, Director Tourism Kashmir, Dr. G N Itoo, Director Youth Services and Sports, Gazanfar Ali and Secretary Sports Council Nuzhat Gull besides other officials and officers.
