Delhi minister and AAP chief Kailash Gahlot has been referred to as for questioning by the Enforcement Directorate in an alleged cash laundering case linked to the Delhi liquor coverage. Mr Gahlot is presently the minister for house, transport, and regulation within the Delhi authorities.

Mr Gahlot has already reached the probe company’s workplace.

The summons come simply days after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested within the case.

ED sources say Kailash Gahlot has been requested to seem for questioning within the case and getting his assertion recorded below the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The case pertains to alleged corruption and cash laundering in formulating and executing the Delhi authorities’s excise coverage for 2021-22, which was later scrapped.

The ED claims the coverage supplied an impossibly excessive revenue margin of almost 185 per cent for retailers and 12 per cent for wholesalers. Of the latter, six per cent – over Rs 600 crore – was recovered as bribes and the cash was allegedly used to fund the Goa and Punjab ballot campaigns, the company claims.

Three high Aam Aadmi Party leaders together with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have been arrested within the Delhi liquor coverage case. The different two are AAP MP Sanjay Singh and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

Ok Kavitha, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief and daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister Ok Chandrashekar Rao, can also be in jail.
