Dino Maamria was appointed Oldham boss on the same day the Laurent Banide was sacked by the club

Oldham Athletic have sacked head coach Dino Maamria after 10 months in charge, reports BBC Radio Manchester.

The 49-year-old Tunisian won just nine out of 32 games at the Latics after replacing Laurent Banide in September 2019.

Oldham are now seeking a seventh new boss since Abdallah Lemsagam became owner in 2018.

They finished the curtailed League Two season 19th in the table on a points-per-game basis.

Maamria had started the 2019-20 season in charge of Stevenage, but was sacked in September after they failed to win any of their opening seven league games.

He took over from Banide at Oldham later the same month after the Frenchman won only two of 11 matches in charge.

Maamria began his reign as boss with a victory against Morecambe, but the five-game winless run that followed summed up their inconsistent season.

His departure comes during a turbulent period off the field, with Oldham having a winding-up petition dismissed by the High Court earlier in July after a debt owed to HM Revenue and Customs was cleared.

That verdict came after the Latics said they avoided going into administration after they repaid money to two former owners.
