SAMBA, Nov 25: Dogra Degree College, Bassi Kalan, Bari Brahmana held Annual Sports Meet. Principal Dr. Bela Thakur and Sports Convener Gulshan Sharma presided over the occasion, which featured intense contests in Volleyball, the exhilarating 200m relay race, and the last word check of power, Tug of War.
The Volleyball Court turned a battleground of talent and technique as groups from division of BA (Team B), BBA (Team A) and B.com (Team C) clashed in spirited matches. Team B (division of BA) received the ultimate match. Principal Bela Thakur, impressed by the extent of play, praised the gamers for his or her sportsmanship and teamwork. She emphasised the position of sports activities in instilling self-discipline and camaraderie amongst college students.
In the 200 meter relay race, Taniya Rajput, Taniya Khajuria, Sukhpreet Kaur and Sunali of BA received the race in lady’s staff and in boys staff Vikas Sharma, Adityapal Singh, Gourav Sharma and Sahil of BA dept. received the race. The BBA staff received a tug of warfare battle. Kanchan Dubey, IQAC Coordinator DDC, in her handle, talked about how this conventional sport symbolizes the power of unity.
