MUMBAI: NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik on Saturday alleged the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede has drafted a private army to create terror and fix innocent people by citing their alleged involvement in consumption and sale of drugs.

Malik said, “We have specific information that instead of government employees and officials, Wankhede has drafted a private army to conduct raids on innocent persons. We will submit concrete evidence against Wankhede to the NCB director general.”

Malik added so far it has been established two witnesses, Kiran Gosavi and Manish Bhanushali, are fake, while the NCB took signatures of two witnesses, Prabhakar Sahil and Shekhar Kamble, on blank papers. He said yet another witness, Fletcher Patel, was a witness in four cases. “Our information is these witnesses are planting drugs at the residences of targets set by NCB officials,” Malik alleged.

He said Aryan Khan was a victim of the NCB’s highhandedness. “I reiterate the raid on the cruise ship was fake and fabricated to fix Aryan Khan. He was in jail for a prolonged period due to the different stand taken by the NCB. Ultimately, he was granted bail by the Bombay high court.”
