CHENNAI: Maintenance of indoor sports activities courts places enormous monetary burden on the Corporation, which is likely one of the the reason why the civic physique handed a decision in the course of the council assembly for 32 tennis courts in 17 areas, 23 badminton courts in 14 locations, 18 skating courts and a couple of desk tennis courts.

E-tender was allotted by a web based system on the premise of fastened income sharing. 

To preserve sports activities services underneath the management of the Department of Sports, the GCC allotted the house for the residents to enhance and preserve sports activities services owned by the Stadium Department.

Administrative permission has been granted to open 8 new courts, together with 5 badminton courts and three skating courts.

“Tennis courts in places like Kolathur, Korattur, Anna Nagar, Nungambakkam, etc., and badminton courts in Chintadripet, Ayanavaram and skating courts in Manali and Anna Nagar will be established,” the decision added.
