E4 Entertainment, one of the popular production houses in South India, is all set to do a web series on the notorious bandit, Veerappan. The production house has acquired the rights to Veerappan: Chasing the Brigand, written by former ADGP K Vijay Kumar, IPS. The production house confirmed the same over a statement and added that the cast and crew of the web series will be finalised in the coming months.

K Vijay Kumar, IPS, is now a senior security advisor with the Ministry of Home affairs. But, he is most known for his stint as the Chief of the Tamil Nadu Special Task Force that took down Veerappan in 2004.

In a statement, the production house wrote, “Any web series or feature film replicating the book, its episodes in part or as a whole, or any characters in the book, or their mannerisms as depicted in the book, is liable for damages and legal action for copyright infringement.” The pre-production work is currently underway.
