LISBON–In United’s first game of the season, quarterback Brutus Ogilvie used his arm to move the ball and secure an opening night victory. In its second game of the season Friday night against Lisbon, United did more of the same.

The Eagles took down the Blue Devils 47-13 behind 408 passing yards from Ogilvie and three touchdowns. United running back Lincoln Urmson added 35 yards and four touchdowns to balance out the offensive attack.

United is 2-0 and 2-0 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference, while Lisbon fell to 0-2, 0-2.

United head coach D.J. Ogilvie was complementary of the passing game and credited the line for the results.

“Our offensive line is doing a tremendous job,” coach D.J. Ogilvie said. “I think we may have only got sacked one time so I am very proud of our offensive line and our line coach is dong a great job protecting our quarterback.”

As good as the passing game was Friday, the running game accounted for four of the seven touchdowns and kept the chains moving on multiple occasions for the Eagles to set up passing touchdowns.

“You still have to be able to run the ball,” D.J. Ogilvie said. “You can do both you are going to be hard to stop. I am very proud of our offensive line, they come off the ball and our running backs run hard.”

Senior quarterback Brutus Ogilvie was also complimentary of the rest of the offense.

“It helps when I have 5 or 6 seconds to throw every play and every other ball I feel like its a deep ball and (the recievers) are making plays,” Brutus Ogilvie said. “It makes my job alot easier when I got guys around me making plays.”

Brutus Ogilvie has 833 yards passing through the first two games and seven touchdowns.

“There is not a lot of people in this league or in this area that have four defensive backs that are as good or better than our four guys,” Brutus Ogilvie said about his recievers. “I would take our four guys over anyone around here. We got four solid recievers and you’ve seen it through the first two games.”

Senior reciever Keaton Baker followed up his record breaking first game with nine catches for 212 yards and a touchdown. Grant Knight added six catches for 79 yards and a touchdown, Nate Miller recorded eight catches for 70 yards and sophomore Nick Hardgrove added three catches for 49 yards and a touchdown.

R.J. Schreffler got the Blue Devils on the board with a 71 yard touchdown catch and run in the second quarter. Ryan McCullough finished with eight rushes for 87 yards, including a 60 yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Lisbon quarterback Tyler Welsh finished 6-for-9 for 99 yards and a touchdown.

They have all the pieces,” Lisbon head coach Matt Altomare said about United. “Coach Ogilvie has put together a real nice team over there, their line is real good, they have some offensive weapons that are nice, fast and quick and can catch real well and (Brutus Ogilvie) has done a great job at quarterback making reads and getting quick releases. They do alot of things very well.”

Lisbon had a couple chances to put more points on the board, but their drives stalled on fourth down to kill the momentum.

“We are getting there,” coach Altomare said. “We are getting closer to be being where we want to be. Whether it is not getting a third down stop or having a drive stall out, we just have to put all the pieces together. We are getting there and that is encouraging at least.”

United will host Wellsville next Friday while Lisbon heads to Leetonia next Friday.
