BOWERSTON – The Edison Wildcats are off to a 2-0 start on the road thanks to a 23-14 win at Connotton Valley Friday night.

“They were a physical team and played us hard on their senior night,” Edison head coach Shane O’Brien said. “We had to overcome some mistakes and adversity but I’m proud of the way we fought to the end. We have a lot of mistakes to clean up but we’re excited to get back to work.”

The Wildcats got two rushing touchdowns from Tyler Griffith, who finished with 110 yards on 13 carries. Talan McClurg added 31 yards on eight carries with another touchdown on the ground. Overall, the Wildcats ran for 168 yards.

Through the air, Gage Cline completed 2 of 4 passes for 47 yards, Tremendous West catching one for 28 yards and Matt Parsons one for 19.

Defensively, Tyler Shrieve made four tackles with five assists, while Griffith and Pasons recorded three tackles each.

Edison is on the road again in Week 3, traveling to Barnesville on Friday night.

RUSHING: 48-168 (Griffith 13-110, Waggonner 15-67, Marcino 9-51, McClurg 8-31, Cline 3-9).

PASSING: 2-4-47 (all by Cline).

RECEIVING: 2-47 (West 1-28, Parsons 1-19).
