The editor of {a magazine} that printed a vastly controversial story with faux quotes from Michael Schumacher has been sacked.

Anne Hoffman sparked outrage when the German publication Die Aktuelle used synthetic intelligence to generate a mock-up interview with the seven-time Formula 1 champion.

Schumacher has not been seen in public for greater than 9 years since he suffered extreme head accidents in a snowboarding accident in December 2013.

But final week the journal slapped a headline on its entrance web page beneath an image of Schumacher smiling, which learn: ‘Michael Schumacher, the first interview.’
