He said many predators are out there taking advantage of increasingly popularity of sites like Tik-Tok and Instagram and more sensitization need to be done on the effects of getting addicted to such sites.

A week ago, Women Rights Advisor to the President Harriette Chiggai said IPV victims should not be condemned, regretting that they form huge statistics of women and girls who have suffered the fate of violence and did not deserve to die.

However, she said this does not only affect girls but also, boys are victims but their cases may not have been highlighted as much as those ones of girls and women.

“One misplaced youngster is one too  many for society. However, given what is going on, I urge our daughters to train warning on how and with whom they work together with on social platforms.”

Chiggai stated that the Government is committed to ensuring that the structures that respond and support survivors do not re-victimize them.

Chiggai also reiterated that the Government in its women’s agenda explicitly committed to ending all forms of violence but the work cannot be done by one arm of the government, one organization or one person alone.
