#ETDigitalTelco: India market responsive to new technologies, says Verizon's Robert Le BusqueNEW DELHI: The Indian marketplace is responsive and demonstrates adaptability to new technologies, a top global telco executive said, following its Blue Jeans acquisition together with Bharti Airtel.

“We see the Indian marketplace as one of great opportunity and great agility and change. And in the time that we’ve seen and experienced working with customers in the Indian marketplace, the one thing that we know is that there are great responsiveness and adaptability to new technologies,” Robert Le Busque, Regional Vice President, Asia Pacific at Verizon Business Group said at the ETTelecom Digital Telco Virtual Summit 2020.

The company, he said, has recently entered into a partnership with the Blue Jeans acquisition with Bharti Airtel to address the rising demand for next-generation collaboration and video communication capabilities in the Indian marketplace.

“We are excited about despite the economic turmoil, despite the uncertainty in the world in the region. We’re excited about the technologies that we can bring and about the innovation that this will breed with our customers,” Busque said. The top executive believes that data is really a new differentiator.

“The faster and better you can harness process, analysis, and users, the bigger the potential business advantage for you. Data can be gathered and acted on closer to where it’s created and used to enable contextually aware applications and real-time operations,” he said.

Busque said that understanding 5G mobile technology is incredibly important for the future of technology investments across the board including corporations and governments.

“It’s important to understand this technology in the context of the decisions they make around investment in infrastructure and cybersecurity as well as applications today to help them plan for 5G future,” the top executive added.
