Euphoria Entertainment Inc. retook its audience on a roller coaster ride this year, with its English play, The Bridge-Game of Death, a murder mystery filled with suspense that includes an obsessive search for unearthing the truth pertaining and the real murderer.

The labyrinth of lanes and by-lanes traversed through the process of unravelling the mystery has surely sent shudders through the spines of the onlookers.

The play was presented as part of Euphoria’s multicultural and multilingual drama fest, Utopia, staged on 8th and 9th of August, 2020 and was performed with Euphoria’s quintessential charisma and panache.

Inspired by Agatha Christie’s The Cards on the Table, the play revolves around a celebrity psychiatrist party host, Dr Gomes, who gets murdered in full view of a roomful of 8 bridge players.

Mr Gomes is known as a flamboyant party host but also a man with whom people were a little careful a little wary of being around.

So, when Dr Gomes started boasting that he is writing a book on perfect murder to his guests; a perfect crime, absolute alibi and that he considers murder an art form, it made the invitees feeling uncomfortable. This made them unnerved thinking about the possible revelations of their deepest, darkest secrets through the novel.

“Speech is the deadliest of revealers.” Isn’t it? So rightfully quoted by Agatha Christie herself. Indeed, what began initially as an absorbing evening of bridge turns out to be a much more sinister game, a game of death, altogether.

The play was written by Swastika and directed by Anirban stars Bikram and Swastika in the lead roles along with Vijesh, Paranjape, Ruzbeh, Chirag, Nirmita, Vijayendra, Amit, Santanu, Saswata, and Shivaji enacting in other significant roles.

“The crew members without whom the entire production wouldn’t have reached its fruition included Preeta Vyas, Malisha, Ryan, Siddish, Chinmoy, Dipankar, Gaurav, Madhurima, Aritra amongst many others,” a spokesperson from Euphoria Entertainment said.
