The first batch of Indians stranded in Sudan left beneath ‘Operation Kaveri’ for Jeddah early on Tuesday morning.

The 278 Indians had been aboard INS Sumedha and efforts are being made to make sure their return to India on the earliest.

Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi tweeted the knowledge with their photos.

Earlier, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had tweeted that 500 Indians had reached Port Sudan and extra are on their strategy to be rescued from the strife torn nation.

Operation Kaveri will get underway to convey again our residents stranded in Sudan.

About 500 Indians have reached Port Sudan. More on their manner.

Rival preventing models, the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces have agreed to stall their preventing for 72-hours to permit international locations to evacuate their stranded nationals.
