Singer and actor Olivia Newton-John, who was best known for her performance in the musical Grease, died at the age of 73 on Monday. Bollywood as well as Hollywood stars paid tribute to the late actress. “Rest in peace Olivia Newton-John. Your legacy will shine on,” wrote Priyanka Chopra on her Instagram story. Kareena Kapoor, posting a still of Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta from Grease, wrote: “Goodbye ONJ. Thank you for the songs.” Oprah Winfrey, singers Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue also remembered the late actress-singer. Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman also posted tributes for Olivia Newton-John on social media.

Posting a memory with the late actress, Oprah tweeted this.

Singer Kylie Minogue shared a precious throwback picture and she wrote: “Since I was ten years old, I have loved and looked up to Olivia Newton John. And, I always will. (Just like this picture ). She was, and always will be, an inspiration to me in so many, many ways. My deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. x ONJ4EVER.”

Hugh Jackman, posting a throwback with the late actress wrote: “I’m devastated to hear the news that Olivia has passed away. One of the great privileges of my life was getting to know her. Not only was she one of the most talented people I’ve known … She was one of the most open hearted, generous and funny. She was a one of kind spirit. It’s no secret Olivia was my first crush. I kissed her (poster) every night before bed. Her legacy will only grow stronger in the years to come. A fighter for healing from cancer that knows no bounds. I love you Olivia.”

Nicole Kidman, remembering the actress, wrote: “Livvie brought the most divine light into the world… so much love, joy, inspiration and kindness… and we will always be hopelessly devoted to you.”

Veteran singer Barbra Streisand wrote in her eulogy for Olivia Newton-John: “Too young to leave this world. May she RIP.”

Olivia Newton-John’s husband John Easterling shared a statement that read: “Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time. Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer.”

Olivia Newton-John had announced in May 2017 that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is survived by her husband John Easterling; daughter Chloe Lattanzi.
