Earlier, 17 staff members and security deployed at Shibu Soren’s residence had tested positive for coronavirus.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren will also take a coronavirus test on Monday — third time in two months. Hemant Soren had come in contact with his cabinet colleague Banna Gupta who tested positive for coronavirus.

Jharkhand Health Minister Banna Gupta said on Tuesday that he has been diagnosed with coronavirus. Banna Gupta tested positive for the infection after attending a cabinet meeting chaired by CM Hemant Soren and other ministers.

In the meeting, Banna Gupta was seated along with Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh, sources said.

“In the last few days, all those who have come in contact with me are requested to get your COVID-19 test done,” he said in a tweet.

Banna Gupta had some symptoms of the novel coronavirus but he still attended the meeting.

Hemant Soren was earlier tested for Covid-19 on August 4 after 19 members of his staff tested positive for the coronavirus disease. His test came out negative.

“Undergone corona test along with family members and office staff,” Hemant Soren said on Twitter.
