The 3rd Annual Fort Pierre Trader Days is this weekend (Aug. 14-16) in Fischers Lilly Park.

Organizing committee member Callie Iverson says there’s plenty of room in the park for social distancing and she encourages folks to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on.

She says the Verendrye Museum’s 3rd Annual Backyard BBQ Competition fundraiser tomorrow (Aug. 15) is set up a little differently this year.

Steve Jonas with the Backyard BBQ says the public has the opportunity to vote for their favorite.

The Verendrye Museum Board supports five local historical sites– the Verendrye Museum, the Log Cabin Visitor Center, the Stanley County Jail, Sansarc Country School Museum and the Fort Pierre Depot in Fort Pierre.

Iverson says evening entertainment tonight and tomorrow night focuses on music.

Parking is available in the public parking lot behind The Spur, street parking on Deadwood Street and the Stanley County Auditorium parking lot. Use the Bad River Pedestrian Bridge to walk over to the events in Fischers Lilly Park.
