Pakistan and India can emerge from the “shadow of past and script a future of hope”, stated chargé d’affaires of the Pakistan High Commission Saad Ahmad Warraich on Thursday on the celebration of Pakistan National Day.

Speaking on the event, held for the primary time in 5 years, Mr. Warraich stated, “The cycle of conflict and tension is not our ordained destiny. We can emerge from the shadow of past and script a future of hope for our two peoples based on peaceful co-existence, sovereign equality and mutual respect.”

Significantly, no official consultant from the Government of India was current on the occasion. Mr. Warraich talked about the problem of Jammu and Kashmir however general struck a conciliatory tone searching for mutual peace and stability. He referred to the Pakistani and Indian ardour for debate and dialogue in addition to “love for cricket” and good meals.
