Fox has announced a request for backup script and animated presentation for Daniel Cardenas Katz’s (Milbert & Marlin) Ocean Village animation according to Deadline. Ocean Village was originally commissioned by Blue Ant Studios and in line of development with Hulu.
The animated series follows the Diaz family as they make their way of living in in the tropical village based on the Florida island. A village that contains raccoon gangs, beach bums, crusty retirees, and cat-sized mosquitos. The Diaz family are part-immigrant with a multi-cultural background. Katz based this off his own experience living in the Florida island and his first iguana attack.
Alongside Katz, Tim Saccardo (American Dad!) supervised the animation project, Josh Bowen acted as managing director, Dan Lubetkin (Workaholics) as co-executive producer, and Nick Weidenfeld (The Boondocks) as co-executive producer.
Ocean Village is a co-production of Fox Entertainment and company-owned Bento Box according to Deadline. Currently, there is no set release date for the animated series.
