FRAMINGHAM – Keefe Tech High School announced today, August 27, all of its fall sports originally scheduled have been moved to the new “fall 2” sports season which starts in February, because the City of Framingham was designated a high-risk coronavirus community.

Superintendent of School Jon Evans said “based on this recent report, we are required to have all of our traditional Fall Sports, which include Football, Soccer, Girl’s Volleyball, Cross Country and Golf, move to the new “Fall 2” season. The “Fall 2” season is scheduled for late winter/early spring. We will be joining many other schools in this schedule, and have hope and optimism that our Fall Athletes will be able to thrive in this opportunity.”

The Fall 2 season is scheduled to start February 22, and is scheduled to run through April 25.

It was originally slated to include football, fall cheer, and unified basketball, but Framingham being labeled as a high-risk COVID-19 community changed the plans for Keefe Tech. 

Evans realized the challenging situation this puts Keefe Tech in, but did provide some optimism.

“I realize that this has been an extremely challenging time for our families. It has been a difficult time for members of our faculty and staff as well. While I sincerely wish that the last six months could have been different, I continue to be inspired by the team at Keefe Tech. Between now and the start of the school year for students, we will be working hard to prepare the best possible experience for whatever format is needed. I apologize for the inconvenience and uncertainty caused by this unprecedented situation that is beyond our control.”
