France's Macron Visits Delhi's Nizamuddin Dargah

Macron reached Dargah Nizamuddin Aulia at round 9.45 pm.

New Delhi:

French President Emmanuel Macron visited the Dargah Nizamuddin Aulia in Delhi on Friday night, officers mentioned.

Emmanuel Macron was the chief visitor on the seventy fifth Republic Day celebrations at Delhi’s Kartavya Path.

He reached the virtually 700-year-old shrine — the nerve centre of Sufi tradition in India — at 9.45 pm and remained there for greater than half an hour, they mentioned.

The dargah is the mausoleum of the well-known Sufi Nizamuddin Auliya and his disciple Amir Khusrau.

Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu acquired her French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on the Rashtrapati Bhavan and hosted a banquet in his honour.

Welcoming President Emmanuel Macron, she mentioned the leaders of the 2 nations being friends of honour in one another’s successive National Day parade and celebrations, is a historic second, and “a symbol of the depth of our friendship and the strength of our partnership”.
