The Frost Fire Summer Theater’s virtual entertainment shows, “Just 4 YouTube,” will continue to be broadcast through Labor Day, said David Paukert, theater manager.

The performances, which are offered to viewers without charge, may be enjoyed online at www.frostfirepark.org/summer-theatre, Paukert said.

The shows, which began July 25 and were scheduled to end Aug. 21, are titled — “Grand Ole Country,” a salute to traditional country and gospel music; “Swing Time,” a celebration of the music of the 1930s and ‘40s; “The Fabulous ‘50s,” honoring the classic sounds of the 1950s; and “Alumni Concert,” featuring selections by 10 former leading players of the Frost Fire stage.

The four, 45-minute, musical variety shows are replacing the traditional summer show that Frost Fire Summer Theater canceled this year due to health and safety concerns arising from the coronavirus threat.

Performances have been held for the past 35 years at a 420-seat, covered, outdoor amphitheater located 7 miles west of Walhalla, N.D.

The virtual entertainment series was created by David and Amy Jo Paukert to help Frost Fire stay connected with their faithful audience members.

It also gave Frost Fire the opportunity to reach out to others who normally cannot attend shows because of distance or physical disability, David Paukert said.

The virtual program also provides a means of fundraising to support the Frost Fire Summer Theatre.

Proceeds from “The Show Must Go On” campaign, with a target of $70,000, will be used to keep the theater financially viable and pay for renovations, including new seats, stage flooring, carpeting and improvements in restrooms and walkways.
