More and more businesses are integrating cloud technologies to grow and remain competitive in a rapidly changing world, from providing customer-facing services to empowering an increasingly mobile workforce.

Cloud technologies are an essential part of our everyday lives; consumers’ expectations are evolving, purchasing patterns are becoming more sophisticated and, certainly, the pandemic has shown that those companies that adapt, adopt and utilise developing technologies are emerging stronger and beating off the competition.

The feedback from all market sectors, however, is the lack of skilled talent to fill the growing number of vacancies.  It is a fact that in the wider Bristol area it’s estimated that c.80% of all tech jobs currently advertised require an element of CloudtTech skills.  The growth in this sector is significant and the demand for suitably skilled individuals with Cloud tech skills continues to grow.

This is great news if you possess Cloud tech skills – but not so if you’re watching from the side-lines.

This is where a time-limited training opportunity, driven by Government, may provide a vital, first step for those wanting to improve their skills and launch a new career.  Equally, if you’re an employer recognising that your own staff need to be upskilled to rise to the challenge presented by the speed of change across all industry sectors, this pilot programme will support your staff to develop vital new skills.

Weston College is offering individuals access to Digital Skills Bootcamps in Cloud Technologies in Cloud Services or Cloud Data Engineering – training that’s totally free to eligible individuals and discounted by 70% for SMEs wising to upskill their staff.

Part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee and Plan for Jobs, these Bootcamps are 12 weeks in duration – one day-release on Mondays (online) and self-led learning each week.

Open to SMEs or individuals based in the West of England, courses start in October (with assessments 18th October) with teaching starting from 25th October.  Both Bootcamps will be repeated in January 2022.

Businesses need talented individuals who possess skills in Cloud Technologies to ensure they can continue to grow and thrive.  Places on these pilot programmes are limited, so sign-up is critical to ensure you secure your place.
