The sporting action hots up over the Bank Holiday and a bumper weekend of live action awaits on BT Sport, whatever the weather.

From the annual Community Shield through to the return of prodigious heavyweight star Daniel Dubois, there is plenty of live sport to keep you glued to your armchair on an unmissable few days.

Just weeks after the disrupted 2019/20 Premier League season concluded and the FA Cup final was contested, we’re already on the verge of the start of the new season!

Premier League champions Liverpool take on FA Cup winners Arsenal in the 2020 FA Community Shield – with all the action from Wembley live on BT Sport 1 HD, Ultimate and online from 4pm (4.30pm KO) on Saturday 29 August.

Jurgen Klopp’s men romped to a first league title in 30 years to qualify for the traditional curtain-raiser, while the Gunners added another FA Cup trophy to their honours list after beating Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley.

The Reds narrowly missed out on winning the Community Shield last year, falling short against Manchester City, but the Anfield side are favourites to go one better this year against Mikel Arteta’s outfit.

Both clubs have won the Community Shield 15 times, with Manchester United the only club to have win the trophy more times (21). The Gunners last lifted the shield in 2017, whereas the Reds were last successful after their FA Cup win back in 2006.

Elite domestic football is back on BT Sport with the Community Shield whetting appetites ahead of what promises to be another enthralling Premier League season. Don’t miss any of the action on your home of live football.

British heavyweight sensation Daniel Dubois makes his ring return for the first time since December on Saturday night as he continues his preparation for a domestic super fight with Joe Joyce.

Dubois, 22, has taken the domestic scene by storm since his debut in 2017 and is widely tipped to conquer the heavyweight division in years to come.

He will fight Dutchman Ricardo Snijders on Saturday 29 August, after original opponent Erik Pfeifer was forced out of their scheduled bout because of a medical issue.

The action begins at 7pm on BT Sport 1 HD, Ultimate and online, with Sunny Edwards, Sam Maxwell and Willy Hutchinson also featuring on the undercard.

British champion Dubois has won all 14 of his professional bouts, with 13 KOs, while 26-year-old Snijders is the Dutch title holder with 18 wins in 19 contests.

“Providing Daniel can solve this Dutch puzzle, we can push on with the Joyce fight, then we hope for a world title fight next year as a mandatory contender,” said promoter Frank Warren.

Top-flight domestic rugby finally returned after a five-month hiatus and there are six more matches live on BT Sport from the Gallagher Premiership this weekend.

In a ground-breaking agreement between Premiership Rugby and BT Sport, subscribers can watch every single match from the remainder of the 2019/20 season right up to the Twickenham final – live!

Every single match will be available to live stream via the BT Sport app and BTSport.com, and on TV, sometimes via the BT Sport Extra channels.

The standout fixture from round 17 comes from the AJ Bell Stadium on Saturday 29 August when Sale Sharks host Bristol Bears live on BT Sport 2 HD from 2.30pm.

Sale have struggled since the restart but boast a number of high-profile superstars including England’s Manu Tuilagi and World Cup winner Faf de Klerk and got their season back on track with victory over Wasps on Tuesday to re-ignite their top four push.

Bristol have been in scintillating form, with Fijian icon Semi Radradra lighting up the Premiership and the Bears will be looking to bounce back from defeat to league leaders Exeter Chiefs last time out.

Harlequins v Northampton, Exeter v Worcester and Gloucester v Leicester all take place on Sunday 30 August, while London Irish v Saracens and Bath v Wasps take place on Monday 31 August.
