  • Google would unveil a bunch of its new hardware products that include the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G smartphones

Google’s upcoming Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a may not be available immediately after the unveiling slated for September 30, according to a famed tipster. Even as it has been confirmed that Google would host a live-streaming event on September 30 to unveiling a bunch of its new hardware products that include the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G smartphones, prospective buyers would have to wait a tad bit longer before they can actually purchase the devices.

According to famed leaker Jon Prosser, both the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5 would be available in Just Black colour option and the latter would also arrive in a Subtle Sage colour while a Clearly White variant of Pixel 4a 5G would get delayed to 2021 and most likely get canceled. Prosser indicated that the 4a 5G may not be available until November 19.

“Pixel 5 5G (Just Black & Subtle Sage) – Preorder: Sep 30 – Launch: October 15 They made an oopsie with the 4a Pixel 4a 5G (Just Black) – Preorder: Sep 30 – Launch: Nov 19 Pixel 4a 5G (Clearly White) – Delayed to 2021 Will most likely be canceled altogether),” Prosser posted on Twitter late on Friday.

With Google’s unveiling of Pixel devices and accessories slated for the end of September, reports that surfaced earlier this week suggested that the latter may arrive with a full HD+ screen while the Pixel 5 may have a premium build. According to a report in WinFuture, the Pixel 5 would arrive with a 6-inch flexible OLED display with a 2340×1080 resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio and up to 90Hz refresh rate.

According to Google’s official blog post from August, the first 5G-enabled Pixels, Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 are arriving this fall and would continue to bring the features people yearn for — like an incredible camera and feature drops that make your phone better over time — packaged in sleek new hardware at more affordable prices.

The report also added that the upcoming device would come equipped with Gorilla Glass 6 –which is a generation leap over the Pixel 4’s Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The Pixel 5 is said to be made of 100 per cent recycled aluminum which would make it significantly lighter than the hefty flagships released this year. It is likely to weigh around 151g. The Pixel 4a 5G is likely to arrive with a full HD+ display, according to the WinFuture report. The device is likely to arrive with a 6.2-inch full-HD+ screen with 1,080×2,340 pixels, HDR support, and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Google, on the India availability of Pixel 4a, had said: “The price of Pixel 4a in India will be revealed closer to its launch in October 2020, when it will be available for purchase on Flipkart. Regarding the two new 5G Pixel phones that were announced globally today, these will not be available in India or Singapore, based on a variety of factors including local market trends and product features.”
