The newest version of the Guinness World Records has 2,638 achievements from around the globe, together with over 60 from India with the entry on rainfall in Meghalaya’s Cherrapunji being one of many oldest.

Between August 1, 1860 and July 31, 1861, a complete of 26,470 mm (1,042 in) of rain fell at Cherrapunji, in keeping with the World Meteorological Organization.
