Another two people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in South Australia, prompting authorities to issue a health alert for three Adelaide businesses where one of the individuals spent time in recent days.

SA Health said the two new cases are both women in their 20s, with one of them a possible result of community transmission.

“It wasn’t clear that this was a person who’s returned from Victoria, so my team at the moment are getting information,” Chief Public Health Officer Nicola Spurrier said.

The other is linked to the cluster identified yesterday associated with two Adelaide schools — Roma Mitchell College and Thebarton Senior College.

It is believed the woman had been to several places while infectious.

“There were nine cases in 10 days yesterday and, of course, these two further cases.”

SA Health said anyone who attended the Najafi Carpet Gallery in Kilburn last Wednesday between 5:00pm and 8:00pm should immediately self-isolate and get tested for COVID-19.

That also applies to anyone who went to the Agha Juice House in Blair Athol between 5:00pm and 7:30pm on Friday, and Fernwood Fitness at Salisbury Downs between 6:00pm and 8:30pm on Saturday.

The advice extends to people who do not have symptoms.

People who attended the Walkers Arms Hotel at Walkerville on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday of last week, or either of the schools, are also being told that, if they develop symptoms, they should immediately self-isolate and get tested.

In a social media post, the Walkers Arms Hotel said that a recent guest was among South Australia’s positive cases.

According to the post, an essential worker from Victoria stayed at the hotel last week and developed symptoms during the stay.

“[They] underwent a subsequent test; returning a positive result, which led to their removal on Wednesday,” the hotel said.

The hotel said the guest had not accessed any part of the hotel “besides their accommodation room and reception area”.

“Since their removal we have gone over and above with cleaning measures.”

New control centre, medi-hotel and testing facility

Premier Steven Marshall — who today underwent a COVID-19 test — said the Government was setting up a number of facilities to bolster the state’s response.

Speaking at a checkpoint near the Victorian border this morning, he said a new disease control centre and a medi-hotel were being set up in nearby Mount Gambier.

A new drive-through COVID-19 testing facility is being established at Adelaide’s Victoria Park.

“These are really important improvements we are making to strengthen that frontline for the men and women who are working here and to keep South Australia safe and strong,” Premier Marshall said.

“We continue to be extraordinarily concerned about the unfolding situation in Victoria.”

He foreshadowed possible additional restrictions on top of the new limits on in-home gatherings and licensed venues that begin at midnight tonight.

The number of people permitted at home gatherings will reduce from 50 to 10, while pubs, bars and restaurants will only be able to serve alcohol to patrons who are seated.

International arrivals land in Adelaide

Meanwhile, SA Health officials and police have been accepting more international arrivals at Adelaide Airport.

More than 260 passengers will head into quarantine after touching down on Singapore Airlines and Air India flights this morning.

They will spend two weeks in hotel quarantine in Adelaide, at their own expense.

They join hundreds already in quarantine at hotels across the city.
