The competition formally kicks off with the May Day Opening Ceremony on May 5 on the Port Coquitlam Community Centre (PCCC), that includes maypole dancing by native kids and seniors, dance performances and the presentation of the 2023 May Day Royal Party.

 

The Rotary May Day Parade begins at 11 a.m. on May 13 in downtown Port Coquitlam; teams and people excited about being part of the parade can apply on-line by April 13 at rotarymayday.ca.

Last yr’s parade featured near 100 contributors and was loved by 12,000 spectators.
