More fun still to come in the playoffs for Hingham’s sports teams.

HINGHAM – For some teams, this week is the end of the season. For others, this is just the beginning. 

Welcome to tourney season. 

Teams that finish in the top 32 in the MIAA state tournament power rankings, or the top 16 for football, get to continue on the road to a potential state title. 

Seedings for the field hockey and volleyball state tournaments will be made official on Monday, Nov. 1. Boys soccer and girls soccer pairings will be announced on Tuesday, Nov. 2, and the opening round of the football playoffs is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 5. 

Here’s a look at some recent action from the Harbormen and the Harborwomen as they close out the regular season.  

GIRLS SOCCER 

Tuesday, Oct. 19th was Senior Day for the Harborwomen as they took on Duxbury High. Prior to the start of the game, the team’s 14 Seniors and their parents were honored for their years of dedication, leadership, commitment, and sacrifice to the program. Hingham came two goals down to defeat the Green Dragons, 4-2. Senior Olivia Sharkansky led the way with two goals and scoring single goals were junior Emily Gibbons and sophomore Claire Murray. 

On Friday, Oct. 22nd Hingham traveled to Plymouth North and won by the score of 3-1, scoring all three of their goals in the second half. Murray led the way with two goals and junior Sophie Reale scored on a penalty kick.  

Hingham is now 15-0-1 overall, 14-0-1 in Patriot League Play. 

Monday, Oct. 25th the Harborwomen traveled to Marshfield. They finish the regular season on Friday, Oct. 29th the Harborwomen at King Philip with a 3:30 p.m. start. 

BOYS SOCCER 

Hingham played Duxbury to a scoreless stalemate on Oct. 19. 

Two days later they defeated Plymouth North, 1-0, on a goal from junior Aidan Brazel. Hingham is now 14-0-1 overall and in Patriot League play. 

On Monday, Oct. 25th the Harbormen traveled to Marshfield to take on the Rams. 

Hingham finishes the regular season with two tough non-league home games against Division 1 foes, B.C. High (Thursday, 6 p.m.) and Brockton High (Saturday, 1 p.m.) 

FIELD HOCKEY 

Hingham defeated Marshfield, 7-2, back on Oct. 20. Senior Shea Berigan led the way with three goals and scoring single goals in the victory were senior Kyle Wilson, junior Lily Ehler, senior Lilly Thrun, and senior Annie Raso. 

Hingham is now 13-1-1 overall and 12-1-1 in Patriot League play. 

Hingham hosted Cohasset Monday afternoon and they went on the road to face Scituate on Wednesday. The regular season ends Friday at home with a 4 p.m. game against Falmouth.   

CROSS COUNTRY 

The Hingham High runners will be in action Saturday for the Patriot League championships at the Marshfield Fairgrounds. The Division meet (Nov. 13) and the All-State Championships (Nov. 20) will each be held this year at the Wrentham Developmental Center. 

VOLLEYBALL 

Hingham (14-3) was home Monday against Barnstable and then again on Wednesday when they hosted Quincy High. They wrapped up the regular season on the road Friday at Rockland High for a 5:30 p.m. game. 

GOLF 

The Hingham High golf team placed second at the Division 1 South sectional golf tournament and played for the Division 1 state championship Monday at Wentworth Hill Country Club. 

Last week at the Division 1 South sections, Xaverian took the team title with a 298, and Hingham High was 11 shots behind them with a team total of 309. 

JD Flynn (75, tied for fourth), Bobby Pierce (76, tied for sixth), and Carson Erick (78, tied for 10th) all placed in the top 10. Drew Golden shot an 80, Luke MacDonald had an 85, and Alex Bankhead shot an 86.
