Rice, wheat, milk and sugarcane — India is among the many largest producers of those agricultural commodities, but thousands and thousands are nonetheless ravenous on the planet’s most populous nation.

“Hunger is the biggest problem in India,” a consultant of world agribusiness Bunge instructed CNBC on the sidelines of the Commodity Trading Week held in Singapore.
