New Delhi: The Income Tax (I-T) Department has provisionally attached several Benami properties linked to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and senior NCP leader Ajit Pawar and his family members.

According to sources of news agency ANI, the Income Tax Department has attached properties of Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar worth Rs 1000 cr. Five properties including Pawar’s office in Mumbai have been attached by I-T Department.

As per ABP News sources, the department has attached a flight worth about 20 crores based in South Delhi. Pawar’s office located at Nirmal Tower which costs around 25 crores has also been attached.

I-T has attached Jarandeshwar Sugar Factory which is around 600 crores and a resort in Goa named Nilaya that costs around 250 crores

27 different lands in Maharashtra whose market value is being said to be 500 crores have also been attached.

Last month, the I-T Dept conducted raids at houses and companies of sisters of Pawar.

In October, the Income Tax Department had raided at least 70 premises allegedly linked with Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and others and had said that it unearthed proof of unaccounted incomes of around Rs 184 crore related.

The IT Department sleuths had swooped on unnamed two realty companies in Mumbai related to Ajit Pawar’s family, and other unidentified individuals/entities associated with them, during the raids simultaneously carried out in Pune and Baramati, as well as in Goa and Jaipur.

The sleuths gathered evidence of prima-facie unaccounted and ‘benami’ transactions, incriminating documents, etc from the two realty groups of around Rs 184 crore.
