Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala’s sports activities minister V Abdurahiman has stated those that can’t afford tickets needn’t watch the India-Sri Lanka ODI on the Greenfield Stadium in Karyavattom right here on January 15.

The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) that hosts the match has requested for a discount within the 12% leisure tax.

When requested by mediapersons if the federal government will scale back the tax, Abdurahiman stated: “One thing to be understood here is that even if we reduce the tax, it doesn’t benefit the common man.”

The minister went on so as to add: “I also heard ticket rates must be reduced because the cost of living is high. If one suffers from hunger, he needn’t go and watch the match.”

The tickets for the match are priced at Rs 1,300 and Rs 2,600 for the higher tier and the decrease tier respectively.

The match would be the third and remaining ODI of a three-match collection. India, the opposite day, received a three-match T20I collection 2-1.
