Maha sees 455 COVID-19 cases, no death; active tally 2,366 as 356 recover

Maharashtra recorded 455 COVID-19 cases, which took the tally to 81,24,754, while the death toll remained unchanged at 1,48,357, a health official said. The recovery count increased by 356 in the last 24 hours to touch 79,74,031, leaving the state with an active caseload of 2,366, he said. State health department data revealed the recovery rate was 98.14 per cent and the fatality rate stood at 1.82 per cent.

Senior Scientist at the India Meteorological Department (IMD) RK Jenamani said that there would be no rain in the national capital and its surrounding areas from tomorrow onwards. “Highest rainfall was recorded at our station in Mayur Vihar on Saturday. From tomorrow onwards there will be no rain in Delhi-NCR,” said RK Jenamani, Senior Scientist, IMD. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the national capital recorded heavy rain on Saturday and Sunday (October 8 and 9). The reported rains in Delhi amounted to 74.3mm, 87.2mm and 85.2mm at the SFD, Lodhi Road and Ayaynagar respectively. Also, Delhi ridge and Palam had reported 60 and 64mm respectively.

The Delhi Fire Service has formed an internal committee headed by the Chief Fire Officer to identify 50 mishap-prone spots in the national capital where mobile fire tenders can be deployed.
