Superstar of the nation and pride of the Indian Army, Olympic gold medallist Neeraj Chopra took some time out to pay a visit to his unit 4 Rajputana Rifles battalion to interact with veterans and families. He wished every member of the Indian Army an advanced Happy Diwali and hoped that they continue to reach new heights upon his visit.

The star javelin thrower has been making several public appearances in wake of his glorious accomplishment at the Summer Olympics 2020 that were recently held in Tokyo. Chopra transformed into a national hero and a huge sports star after winning an elusive gold medal in the men’s javelin throw event with a throw of 87.58m in his second attempt at Tokyo 2020. He became only the second Indian to win an individual gold in the Olympics, outclassing the field by quite a distance to notch up the first track-and-field Games medal for the country.

However, it was during Chopra’s visit to his battalion that he got felicitated by the GOC Desert Corps for becoming the sports star of the Indian Army as they named the sports complex of Udaipur Military Station after his name — Neeraj Chopra Sports complex. Check out Neeraj Chopra’s tweet about his time spent with his battalion here:

The 23-year-old golden boy of the nation from Panipat is ranked second internationally by World Athletics and is a Junior Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army (Subedar). Ever since returning back, Chopra has been in the media glare as he keeps frequenting different sports stadiums, complexes, and events as a part of his huge influence over today’s youth and the numerous brands/companies that want to make him the brand ambassador of their endorsements.

In the most visibly popular campaign, Chopra was seen acting and portraying as many characters in different roles he took up for a TVC for CRED (fintech brand) which went viral across TV broadcasts and the internet as well.

Meanwhile, Chopra has dived deep back into training as he looks to stay in peak physical condition for him to compete in all the future competitions including the next biggest one just 3 years away in Paris 2021 — the Olympic Games. Chopra had also posted some pictures of his vacations from Maldives, Dubai, etc. post his glorious top podium finish at the showpiece event in Tokyo a few months back.
