Indian boxer Kaur Singh, Asian Games champion, dies

Indian boxer Kaur Singh, who received the gold medal on the 1982 Asian Games in Delhi, died in Kurukshetra, Haryana on Thursday. He was present process therapy in a hospital for a number of health-related points. He was 74.

Kaur Singh got here from a humble background and spent his early days working as a farmer in Punjab’s Malwa area. He joined the Indian Army in 1971 and was launched to boxing in 1977.

Kaur Singh’s inspiring journey as an athlete, together with the tales of legendary hockey participant Balbir Singh Sr, India’s monitor and discipline icons Milkha Singh and Gurbachan Singh Randhawa, had been included within the college curriculum by the state authorities of Punjab earlier in 2023.

Kaur Singh is survived by two sons and a daughter.
