Indian weapons purchaser approves $10B fund to equip navy

NEW DELHI — India’s weapons purchaser on Thursday accepted a 843.28 billion rupees ($10.18 billion) funds for the acquisition of main weapons and platforms, most of which the federal government will spend regionally in a bid to bolster the domestic defense manufacturing sector.

The Defence Ministry mentioned in a press release that its Defence Acquisition Council backed the so-called acceptance of necessity proposal, which is able to see about 97.4% of the funds used to obtain indigenous materiel.
