Informa Markets organises renewable energy & electric vehicle technology exhibition in collaboration with government-private sectors; showcasing latest innovations and technologies with seminars; working toward a cleaner and safer ‘new normal’ environment starting 23 September 2020

Informa Markets; the organiser of ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020; joins forces with government and private sectors; including: The Ministry of Energy; The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT); The Federation of Thai Industries’ Renewable Energy Industry Club; Thailand Institute of Scientific & Technological Research (TISTR); The Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand; The Joint Graduate School of Energy & Environment King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (JGSEE), and private sectors to organise ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020 (ASE2020), the regional most comprehensive renewable energy; environmental & energy efficiency exhibition. ASE 2020, the first exhibition of the year, will be held during 23-26 September at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC) Bangna. The show will gather the most advanced and world-class technologies that can meet all demands in the post-COVID world.

Dr. Twarath Sutabutr, Inspector General, Ministry of Energy said: “ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020 is a side of the regional most comprehensive exhibition we’ve never seen before since the exhibition needs to adapt to match the new-normal lifestyle, health guidelines and regulations under the spread of COVID-19. The exhibition aims to raise awareness of the efficient use of energy and to gather together the latest sustainable energy innovations. This year the Ministry of Energy will host the seminar, one of the highlight events of the exhibition, on 25 September, titled “International Conference – Rural Electrification: International Experience and Development in Thailand”. The seminar will inform participants about off-grid electrical technology for remote areas. Attendance will be available both offline and as an online virtual seminar.”

Mr. Patana Sangsriroujana, Deputy Governor Strategy, Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) said: “EGAT is constantly working with the latest technologies and innovations to develop projects and work toward the main objective of generating electricity for our fast-changing world while taking society, community, and the environment into consideration.”

“This year is the first time that EGAT is participating in the ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020. EGAT will be hosting a 120 square metres of exhibition space for researches and innovations under the theme “EGAT’s E-mobility”. EGAT sees the importance of electric vehicles (EV) in the future and decided to study prototypes of electric vehicles supporting the government’s EV policy. EGAT also decided to promote the use of the different electric vehicles such as cars, buses, motorcycles, and boats, along with EV charging stations and other charging infrastructures.”

“EGAT is managing EV electricity consumption in response to the government’s policy and to support achievement of EGAT’s vision, namely, ‘Innovate Power Solutions for a Better Life’. EGAT believes that by working on EVs, it is developing the country and creating a better life for Thai people. EVs are going to reduce CO2 emissions from diesel engines, fuel consumption, and other air pollutants including PM 2.5 that harm peoples’ health.  The exhibition will include an electric car show featuring EGAT’s i-EVs and electric motorcycles to promote use of electric vehicles in Thailand.”

Mr. Manu Leopairote, Chairman-Thailand of Informa Markets revealed that: “As the official organiser hosting this exhibition for 30 years, Informa Markets can guarantee that Informa Markets and its partners from government and private sectors are more than ready to host ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020 (ASE 2020). The new normal hygiene policy is already in place, including compliance with visiting regulations and in accordance with Informa AllSecure health and safety standards. This year, the exhibition will be held in a hybrid form, including physical and virtual versions. This will facilitate visitors from overseas who can’t travel to easily access the online exhibition during all four days of the exhibition.”

“ASE 2020 will be held under the concept of ‘ENERGY SOLUTIONS FOR SMART CITIES’, showing the latest technologies and innovations in energy. This year, the exhibition will be held in conjunction with Renewable Energy Asia, Entech Pollutec Asia, Energy Efficiency Expo, and Electric Vehicle Asia. The exhibition will be a showcase for the most innovative energy sources, along with advanced technology and equipment from over 1,000 leading global brands, including SolarEdge, Kawasaki, Miura, Delta Electronics, Osaka Gas, and Daicel. Official sponsors include Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and FIMER. Moreover, there will be over 80 seminar sessions in both Thai and English, International Conference Sustainable Energy Solutions for Smart Cities, and International Electric Vehicle Technology Conference and Exhibition (iEVTech 2020). Plus many other interesting topics will be addressed by experts from around the world. Over 15,000 visitors are expected to join ASE 2020 both on line and in person,” Mr. Manu Leopairote concluded.

ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020 (ASE2020), the most comprehensive showcase of renewable energy innovation, energy efficiency, environmental and electric vehicle technology, is being held in conjunction with Renewable Energy Asia, Entech Pollutec Asia, Energy Efficiency Expo, and Electric Vehicle Asia, from Wednesday, 23 September to Thursday 26 September 2020 at Bangkok International & Trade Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangna, Bangkok.
