For Match 54 of IPL 2021, the upbeat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on the dejected Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday evening.

This is the last league game for both sides with KKR in the hunt for a playoff spot. Should they defeat RR, they will go onto 14 points with a healthy net run-rate over the Mumbai Indians, who would then need to win by a massive margin against Sunrisers Hyderabad tomorrow.

The Royals, who have 10 points, were all but eliminated after their huge dip in NRR, which is now -0.737, following the loss to Mumbai when Rohit Sharma’s side chased down 91 in 8.2 overs.

On the head-to-head front, both the teams have gone neck to neck with each other, with KKR being victorious in 12 encounters while RR in 11. Sanju Samson’s team emerged victorious in their previous match, in Mumbai during the India leg of the season.

Chris Morris starred for RR with the ball, recording figures of 4/23. The RR skipper scored 42 unbeaten runs in a chase of 134.
