The administration in Jammu and Kashmir will assemble as many as 56 sports activities stadiums and centres in all twenty districts to faucet the sports activities potential of the youth from the area.

Barring three districts, three sports activities stadiums and centres can be constructed in all of the remaining districts wherein UT-level competitions may also be held.

The Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council has issued notification for the development of a sports activities floor below Khelwandia District Level Centers below Sports Authority of India vide 70/KI/SKIC-Slamall-J&Okay/2020-21 Maharhra 08 February 2023.

Stadiums for soccer, hockey and gymnastics can be constructed within the Srinagar district. Cycling, Wushu and Kabaddi in Budgam, Badminton, Volleyball and Thang Ta in Ganderbal, Hockey, Football and Boxing in Bandipora, Badminton, Table Tennis and Hockey in Baramulla, Volleyball, Khokho in Anantnag, Kabaddi and Volleyball in Kulgam. Wrestling, Hockey, Table Tennis and Skating in Pulwama, Volleyball and Taekwondo in Shopian, and Football, Khokhu and Kabaddi in Kupwara.

Similarly, tender tennis, desk tennis and hockey within the Jammu district, volleyball, wrestling and boxing in Samba, soccer and rowing in Kathua, desk tennis, handball and basketball in Udhampur, and gymnastics in Reasi, Yoga, Archery, Table Tennis in Doda, Athletes, Volleyball and Thug Ta in Kishtwar, Football and Kabaddi in Ramban, Table Tennis and Wrestling in Rajouri and Football, Badminton and Volleyball in Poonch. A soccer floor is being constructed in Charlan Faisalabad.

The administration has invited functions from eligible athletes to be posted as coaches, mentors and champion Athletics for the mentioned Sports Stadium.

First desire can be given to these gamers who’ve represented India and are acknowledged by the National Sports Federation of India (NSF) within the respective sports activities, second desire can be given to those that have gained medals in Senior National Championships or have gained medals in Khelo India competitions, an official mentioned.

The third desire can be given to the medal winner within the All India University Championship and the fourth desire can be given to the gamers representing the state within the Senior National Championship who’re acknowledged by NSF and have participated within the Khelo India Games.(ANI)
