NEW DELHI: A non-local vendor was shot dead in the Eidgah area of old Srinagar city on Saturday evening. He has been identified as Arvind Kumar, a street-food seller from Bihar.
In Pulwama, a carpenter hailing from Uttar Pradesh was aslo shot dead by terrorist.
The police said 30-year-old Kumar was fired upon by the unidentified gunmen near Eidgah park, leaving him in a pool of blood. He was rushed to the hospital where he was declared ‘brought dead.’
Officials said a manhunt has been launched to nab the attackers.
Arvind Kumar was second person killed by the terrorists after another roadside hawker, also from Bihar, was shot and killed near Lal Bazar area of Srinagar on October 5.
In Pulwama, a carpenter from Saharanpur UP was shot dead by militants. He was identified as Sageer Ahmad and used to work at a local saw mill.
“He was shifted to hospital for treatment where he succumbed to injuries”, sources said adding that security forces have reached the spot to trace the terrorists.
Terrorists had shot and killed a school principal and a teacher inside a government higher secondary school in Srinagar on October 7.
On October 5, a famous pharmacy owner, ML Bindroo, a street vendor from Bihar and a taxi driver were killed in a series of attacks on civilians.

The latest attacks come on a day when forces neutralised a Lashkar terrorist in Pampore, believed to be involved in the killings of two policemen in Baghat.
Forces have launched a crackdown to identify and nab the perpetrators of the continued attacks on civilians and non-locals.
On Friday, forces gunned down two terrorists suspected of involvement in civilian killings in two separate encounters, in Bemina area of Srinagar and at Wahibug in Pulwama.
“13 terrorists have been killed in 9 encounters after the civilian killings. We have neutralised 3 out of 5 terrorists of Srinagar city in less than 24 hours,” said IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar.
