The Lewis and Clark City-County Board of Health has scheduled a special meeting this Thursday to discuss possible changes that could allow spectators at school sponsored sporting events.
Currently, no spectators are allowed at events to minimize the risk of spreading Covid-19.
County health officials say the rule is in line with a health order requiring any gathering between 50 and 250 participants to maintain at least six feet of social distancing.
“Reopening and staying open relies on both community and personal responsibility,” added Drenda Niemann. “Large events have the potential to cause outbreaks, leading to disease and death in our community.”
The meeting is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon. It will be held virtually over Zoom.
