PANAMA CITY— The entertainment scene is thriving in downtown Panama City, and local businesses are keeping the city alive with events, activities and live music.
The fun lasts all night for some people and, in some cases, they run into the next day. But there’s enough to go around for everyone as downtown packs out with things to do each week. Here’s a look at upcoming events, entertainment and activities taking place in downtown Panama City during the next few days.

Live music at Harrison’s
Kick off the weekend enjoying Southern and coastal flavors at Panama City’s newest waterfront restaurant. Harrison’s Kitchen and Bar, 5 Harrison Ave., will feature live music of classic and Southern rock from GreenHead Band on Friday from 6-9 p.m.
In addition, live music from local musicians will be offered at Harrison’s starting at 6 p.m. every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and during Sunday brunch from 10 to 11 a.m.

Psych Night at Mosey’s
Mosey’s Downtown, 425 Grace Ave., will host Psych Night on Friday from 7-11 p.m. The event will include artists, vendors, food and beverages, and live entertainment. Mosey’s also will be shooting a promo video for Psych Night and the growing psychedelic scene.
Enjoy live performances from local and regional talents, including Soul Machine, Valdosta Psychedelic Masters, Elder Flovvers, hometown Psychedelic Surf Rock, and John Ceaser & The Ceaser Salad, Panama City’s own indie rock ‘n’ rollers.

Comedy Night
Don’t miss out on a night of laughter hosted by the city’s favorite comedians. The Panama City Comedy group is bringing a night of laughs from regional and national touring comedians to Mosey’s on Saturday night. The show kicks off at 8 p.m., and tickets are $10 on Eventbrite.
Rock show at House of Henry
Grab your favorite Irish fare and a cold brew and get ready to rock at the House of Henry, 461 Harrison Ave., on Saturday night with live music from Fents The Band. The Montgomery, Alabama-based band will bring its rock show to HoH from 9 p.m. to midnight.

History Class’ Axes and Ales
Grab a cold brew and test your axe-throwing skills at History Class Brewing Company, 6 E. Fourth St. On Wednesday, History Class will team up with Axe 850 for a fun night of mobile axe throwing. Cost for axe throwing is $1 per throw or $15 unlimited.

Exhibits at the Center for the Arts
Three exhibits are filling the gallery spaces at the Center for the Arts this month, and all are created from the work of local artists.
The main gallery will feature the “Fired Up” exhibit that includes pottery from nine local artists: Pavel Amromin, Mary Kay Griffith, Jillian Heusohn, Tammy Marinuzzi, Kelly McLendon, Jaweria Rizvi, Cynthia Smith, Nolan Windholtz and Mandy Yourick.
In the Miller gallery, work from Bay Arts Alliance’s annual Royal Flippin Skateboard Competition exhibit is on display. This year is people’s choice which means it’s up to the community to decide who will be the best of show, first and second place. Come out to show support and vote for your favorite deck.
Photography by local artist Shelton Halstead will be on display in the cafe gallery. Using manual and digital film to create his photography, Halstead used his exhibit to show the moments he has captured over the years.
All three exhibits will be displayed until Aug. 27. The Center for the Arts, at 19 E. Fourth St., is open and free to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Fridays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
