BENGALURU: Basavaraj Bommai transferred 27 IAS officers on Monday, carrying out the first major rejig in the bureaucratic set-up after becoming the chief minister.
According to the government order, KV Trilok Chandra will be replaced as the state health commissioner by D Randeep.
Trilok Chandra has been appointed as the special BBMP commissioner (health & IT).
This is the second such change since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
Naveen Raj Singh is the new medical education secretary.
Until now, health secretary TK Anil Kumar had the dual responsibility.
In other changes, Bommai has appointed BH Anil Kumar as the secretary of the infrastructure development department, a role that Kapil Mohan handled until now. Mohan is now the additional chief secretary of the food and civil supplies department.
S Selvakumar is the new secretary for primary and secondary education and will also handle the skill development department. Bommai has finally appointed R Venkatesh Kumar as the secretary of the Kalyana Karnataka Development Board.
Other transfers: SR Umashankar, principal secretary (cooperation); J Ravi Shankar, secretary (housing); KP Mohan Raj, MD, KSSIDC; and BB Cauvery, MD, KSMCL.
